Every one of us have issues. I think it is safe to say that we all share some common problems. You may say that “my situation is different”, and you are right. Our lives are different, so the same problems we share are on different levels.

Just like you, I have had my fair share of relationship issues, health issues and money issues… pump the breaks! Money issues…WOAH! I was on the threshold of bankruptcy plenty of times over the years.Then it finally happened. This time was the worst but it turned out to be one of the best things that has happened in my life.

Going bankrupt forced me to make a REAL CHANGE. It backed me into a corner and made me choose one of the options in front of me. I saw an opportunity and I chose to take it. When ish hit the fan, I turned off my humanity. Emotions have no place when a resolution is needed.

When your house is burning you don’t have time to cry about it. You need to move or die.

When your problems are out of control, or controlling you, try to “turn off your humanity”. This is the position I take when dealing with whatever I am dealing with. Think about this, when you spill milk, does it get cleaned up when you start crying or after you stop crying?

As luck would have it, I am currently dealing with my car. Today I find myself in a position where I have to make a decision to invest in a new car or in my car which is really showing its age. Naturally one would think cut your loses and get a new car. That’s easier said then done when you don’t have the funding to make that move. On the other hand the repairs needed represent a down payment for a new car.

The best part about this situation is my emotions are not playing a part in my decision making because If they were I would be stuck on:

– it’s my first brand new car

– I brought my newborn children home in it.

– I took my dog to lay him to rest.

– The Thanksgiving I got stuck at 1 in the morning with my family [f’n car]

Based on those emotional connections and the thousands not mentioned, I would pay the mechanic and would not be discussing this at all. I find myself on the fence with the financial decision that has to be made and should not be made hastily.

Emotions stop your progression. The minute you get out of your feelings, YOU allow YOU to work. I have mentioned my formula in previous posts and I will say it again.
