One of my people was telling me about this idea he has for a business. He was explaining most of his plan then he stops. Dead air. I hear his significant other walk into the room. She leaves the room and he continues. So I ask what just happened? He says that she doesn’t believe in his idea so he doesn’t speak on it when she is around. He continues down this path about her, the lack of support and how he is worried about how things will turn out… before he has even started! His main “hang up” is that she will be right and she will have the opportunity to say “I told you so”.

So I ask “is it your business or her’s?” “It is mine” he replied softly with virtually no confidence.

iT’S YOUR THiNG!

No one else will make your dream[s] come true. No one else know’s your dream like you. How do you expect someone else to make your dream come true? You are not going to make YOUR DREAM come true by expecting someone else to live it. You are not going to get what you want by merely wanting it. When people see you taking action, they become interested and look to support you.

You can’t push your life on anyone else. My mom wanted her son’s to be doctors and lawyers but none of us are. She wanted that for us but never exposed us to any of it. She mentioned it every now and then but never consistently. We never had a law book in our house and the only medical book I can recall is the home remedies that she used on us. Regardless it was her dream not ours and definitely not mine.

My dreams, my thoughts, my aspirations, I am living them every day. I am in constant pursuit of creativity day in and day out. The only time I am not creating is when I am sleeping. Even then, I go to sleep with creating on my mind so subconsciously I am working on my craft. Every day that I am blessed with, my goal is to create something!

So if you have a dream, a goal, a wish, a want, then you better get after it. You have to go get it because it is not coming to you. If you are waiting for it, or the right time…I hope not. Don’t worry about everyone else and what they think.
